Brittany Stallion Management has announced that its stallion Artiscape, who stands stud at Winbak Farm of New York, has made steady progress following his colic surgery to remove 10 feet of his small intestine on Monday, May 24. On Thursday Artiscape had normal gastrointestinal responses and appeared bright and alert.
While it appears that the 15-year-old stallion has passed the critical stage, there is still the possibility of post-surgery issues.
“While I was unfamiliar with New England Equine Practice I have to say that I couldn’t be more comfortable with the situation right now," said Art Zubrod of the Artiscape Syndicate. "They have been very professional and communicative. Matt Harrison of Winbak has been visiting Artiscape daily and is happy with his progress.”
