Trainer Joe Seekman told harnessracing.com Wednesday morning that any reports that there is a chance Art Official won't be racing at The Red Mile during the Grand Circuit two-week stand are inaccurate and the 3-year-old colt pacer will be entered in the Bluegrass Sept. 27 at the famed clay oval.
"We're racing in the Bluegrass, but then we have to decide if we want to supplement to the Tattersalls (on Oct. 4)," said Seekman in the Jug Barn at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds, where Art Official will race in the Little Brown Jug Thursday afternoon. "We want to race in the Windy City at Maywood the following weekend, so we're just undecided if we want to supplement him and then race him so many weeks in a row."
The winner of the Meadowlands Pace and Cane Pace, Art Official could meet up with North America Cup winner Somebeachsomewhere in the Bluegrass if the two sophomores land in the same division. It would be a much anticipated match-up of the two divisional heavyweights.
