Art's Chip wins at HoP

Art's Chip, who pulled an upset in last year's US Pacing Championship on Hambletonian Day at the Meadowlands, won his first start of the season Saturday night at Hoosier Park, scoring in 1:51.3 for trainier-driver Mark Evers.



The 5-year-old son of Artsplace enjoyed a two-hole trip in the Hoosier Park Invitational as Mypanmar set the pace. Mypanmar held on for second while Foxy Maneuver was third.



The victory boosted Art's Chip's career earnings over the $500,000 mark.
