Martin Scharf's Self Professed, after two seconds and three thirds in his last five starts, got to the winner's circle in the $24,000 Open Trot Wednesday at Dover Downs, while Saint Johns Boy closed well to win the $20,000 Jr. Open Trot.

The 2006 dash champion Tony Morgan drove five winners, while meet leader Tim Tetrick, Ross Wolfenden, Brad Hanners and Tim Curtin each had driving doubles.

Starting from post one, Brad Hanners drove Self Professed to his first win of the 2006 season holding off Jake's Nordic and Curtin in a 1:54.4 mile. The second-place finish by Jake's Nordic ended a two-race Open win streak. Breeze Hill Will, reined by Tetrick, finished third.

M&M Harness Racing's Saint Johns Boy won a Garrison charge finish in 1:56 to take his second $20,000 Jr. Open in three races and fourth of the meet. In the photo were Go Sassy Go with George Dennis, second, Racsan Jenny and Steve Warrington, Go Nana Go, and Rusty's Biggie with Eddie Dennis. Racsan Jenny, after leading from the start, was disqualified from third and placed fourth for interference in the stretch.

In a $15,500 winners-over trot, Tetrick drove Armbro Corbin into the lead on the backstretch and they drew off from his eight foes for a 1:565.3 victory. Love You Most closed with a rush for Dennis to finish second. Vicki Gram, driven by Art Stafford Jr., took the show spot.

Ron Reed's Fox Valley Quache won the first of two $10,200 Delaware paces with Morgan picking up the second of his four wins. Gin And Vermouth (Tetrick) was a close up second. Baylander (Jim Morand) took third.

Mike Horn and Bobby Rice's Boom Shockalaka, with driver Kevin Sizer, held off Dons Dream Mindale (Morgan) at the wire in 1:55.3 to win the second $10,200 Delaware pace. Hack Boy (Tetrick) finished third.

Howard Jacobs' Grecia Art was Wolfenden's second winner of the night out-dueling runner-up Red Man N (George Dennis) down the stretch in 1:53 to win a $25,000 claiming pace. Macho Uno (Herve Filion) was third. (Dover Downs)
