A three-wide blast at Nfld

Former world champion Blastaway Sahbra took Monday's $7,500 Open Trot at Northfield, using a three-wide move going to the three-quarters to easily win in 1:57.1 Kurt Sugg trains and drives the son of Striking Sahbra, who has been limited to just 11 starts over the last two years.

Trot Like Dad used the rail to his advantage as Brett Miller put him on the lead and posted fractions of :27.1, :58 and 1:27.3, but he tired in his second start off a month-long layoff as the winner moved by. Lucca's Revenge closed well to win a photo for the place spot over pocket-sitting Whosethemaster.

Blastaway Sahbra has now earned $657,164 in his career for Wooster, Ohio, owners Dean Davis and Brenda Sugg
