The Red Mile will be returning to afternoon racing for the 2012 Grand Circuit meet. The 2011 meet was held at night with the exception of Sunday programs.
The Grand Circuit stand in Lexington will open on Thursday, Sept. 27, with a 1 p.m. post, with racing Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The second week of racing will again be during the afternoons with a 1 p.m. post time, also Thursday through Sunday. The Kentucky Futurity will be held Sunday, Oct. 7.
The Lexington Selected Yearling Sale will begin Tuesday, Oct. 2, with a 7 p.m. start time, and continue on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the sale beginning at 7 p.m. each night.
The Kentucky Futurity card will also include the Filly Futurity and the Allerage events for older pacers and trotters. The Saturday, Oct. 6, card will be highlighted by the Tattersalls and Glen Garnsey Memorial for 3-year-old pacers.
