After heavy snow and “white out” conditions forced the cancellation of last Tuesday’s Balmoral Park racing card after just one race “Mother Nature” once again struck in Crete, Ill., as heavy rains forced the cancellation of last night's racing program after just one race. After day-long rains wreaked havoc on the racing surface, drivers and trainers along with the stewards and Balmoral Park management decided the adverse conditions had made the track unsafe for racing, forcing the cancellation of the card after just one race. Today's qualifiers (Feb. 6) were also cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, with the usual post time of 10:30 a.m. (central). Wednesday night’s regularly scheduled 11-race pari-mutuel program is scheduled to be conducted as programmed with post time at 7:20 p.m (central). Drivers Mike Oosting, Art Gregory Jr., and Trace Tetrick who were involved in a spill in Tuesday’s first race came away with minor bumps and bruises and are not expected to miss any time. All the horses involved in the spill came away unscathed as well. (Balmoral Park)
