With Bangor Raceway's new $1.8-million race paddock ready for April 17's opening day, the track's parent company, Penn National, is now ready for the next phase of restoring the track's dilapidated barn area.

While the new paddock was wholly paid for by Penn National, Johnson says he is pleased that the city of
Penn National had contended at a public hearing with the city that the lack of a proper maintenance and upkeep program during city ownership led to the barns’ current dilapidated state. (Maine Harness.com)
