Corey Braden and Baseball Express scored a front-end victory in the featured $14,000 Open Handicap Trot on Friday night at Tioga Downs.

The duo left from post position eight and were persistent in gaining the lead. Baseball Express and Braden cut fractions of :28, :56.4 and 1:25.4 before trotting home and equaling his lifetime mark of 1:55.3. Diva Diva and Andy Santeramo used a two-hole trip to hang on for second, while Unshakeable and Mike Merton held on for third after a tough first-over journey.

The winner, a 5-year-old son of Conway Hall, is trained by Michael Deters for Kevin Burch.

The win in the Open Trot was one of three victories on the 11-race card for Braden, while Phil Fluet posted a driving double. (Tioga Downs)
