Batavia delayed til March

Reports out of New York state Batavia Downs, which was being targeted to reopen in January after being shut down since last May, will now not likely open until mid-March.



Martin Basinait, the president of Western Regional Off-Track Betting, which owns the track, said delays in gaining various approvals are behind the delay. Construction on the video lottery terminal parlor is now scheduled to begin next month, with the track hosting approximately 600 machines.
