Officials at Batavia Downs Gaming have announced that beginning next Wednesday the first race post time will move up 30 minutes to 7:05 p.m. for the remainder of the 2007 racing season. According to Michael D. Kane, vice president of gaming and racing at America’s oldest lighted harness track, “The change was made to better service our customers. The time change conforms with our new gaming hours and should provide benefits to our on-track and simulcast handle.” Batavia Downs is currently racing every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. Day/night doubleheaders will be held on Nov. 10 and 17 and Dec. 1; the afternoon post time will remain at 1:15 p.m. The 61st racing season at the Downs will conclude on Dec. 1. (Batavia)
