Next up for Jug Fantasy Contest players is Sunday’s $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine at Harrah’s Chester. The Little Brown Jug Fantasy Contest is a joint venture between the Delaware County Fair and the U.S. Trotting Association.

The 65th Jug continues to be wide open with the list of contenders seeming to grow each week. Aracache Hanover and One More Laugh were winners this past weekend as many of their big rivals took the weekend off.

Aracache Hanover proved he has the quality to win two heats in one afternoon, taking the $547,000 Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs in 1:52 and 1:51.1. Jug-eligibles BG’s Follly won his elimination in 1:52 and finished second to Aracache Hanover with Four Starz Trace third. One More Laugh defeated Versado and Nova Artist in 1:51.1 in a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at Harrah’s Chester.

In other Jug news, Meadowlands Pace elimination winner OK Commander is back training after being scratched from the final. Trainer Gregg McNair hopes to have OK Commander ready for the Simcoe Stakes on Sept. 11 at Mohawk Raceway.

The $650,000 (est.) Little Brown Jug will be raced Thursday afternoon, Sept. 23, at the Delaware, Ohio County Fairgrounds. Be sure and check the new Little Brown Jug website:  www.littlebrownjug.com. (LBJ)
