Two-time Breeders Crown champion Boulder Creek and new millionaire Ponder head a list of 42 horse and gelding pacers eligible to the $500,000 Breeders Crown Pace, to be raced Saturday, July 29, at the Meadowlands.

Boulder Creek, voted Dan Patch Older Pacer of the Year, will seek an unprecedented third consecutive Crown title for trainer Mark Silva and owners Cliff Siegel, John Fodera and Lee Wasserman. The 6-year-old pacer recently qualified sharply at the Meadowlands on his way back to the racing wars.

Bob McIntosh leads the Crown trainer standings and has had three Crown Pace winners in this division - Camluck, Artsplace and Staying Together. He will seek a fourth with Ponder, who just paced the fastest mile in the 57-year history of Hazel Park, speeding off to a 10-length 1:51 victory over the five-eighths mile Michigan oval.

Also eligible is the richest pacer of 2006, Presidential and Dan Patch Invitational winner Hop Sing, recently named the Horse of the Month for April by the United States Trotting Association.

Joining the seasoned veterans will be last year's sophomore standouts American Ideal and Little Brown Jug winner P Forty-Seven. American Ideal set a world record of 1:47.4 in the 2005 Bluegrass Stakes at Lexington. His sire, Western Ideal, owns the record for the fastest Breeders Crown ever, 1:48, in this same event. Also eligible is Leading X Ample, runner-up in the sophomore Crown event last year to Rocknroll Hanover, who is now retired to stud.

One of four Crown events slated for opening day of the Hambletonian Festival at the Meadowlands, the Crown Pace has produced 13 year-end divisional champions from 21 editions.

Purses for the four events -- the $800,000 Crown Trot, $500,000 Crown Pace, $300,000 Mare Pace and $250,000 Mare Trot -- will exceed $1.8 million.

A complete listing of all eligibles to events administered by the Hambletonian Society and more information on the conditions of the race can be found at www.hambletonian.org.
