The 5-year-old trotting mare Beatgoeson Hanover 1:51.4f, consigned by Northwood Bloodstock Agency, topped the mixed sale portion of the annual Standardbred Horse Sales Company auction in Harrisburg when she was sold for $410,000 on Saturday afternoon. Saku Mikkoh of Finland bought the mare, acting as agent, and said she will be exported to Finland to race. Beatgoeson Hanover, a daughter of Andover Hall and former world champion Beat The Wheel, is a winner of $1.1 million.
Northwood Bloodstock also consigned the 3-year-old pacing filly Somwherovrarainbow, the winner of last year's Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Filly Pace, for owners K&R Racing, George Teague Jr. Inc., and Ted Gewertz, but she failed to bring her reserve, with bidding stopping at the $360,000 mark. Among the breeders who were bidding for the filly, a daughter of Horse of the Year honorees Somebeachsomewhere and Rainbow Blue, was Diamond Creek Farm.
Northwood also consigned the 4-year-old trotting stallion Knows Nothing who Mikkola, once again acting as agent, bought with a bid of $240,000. The son of Kadabra-Savvy Yankee has won 14 of 35 lifetime starts, with earnings of $728,688. He was the Canadian Breeders champion last year as a 3-year-old.
