October 19, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Bella Dolce took a Goldsmith Maid elimination Friday at Woodbine in 1:57 after race favorite Snow White broke at the three-quarter pole.

As expected Snow White and John Campbell took the field through early fractions with Timeless Winner (Yannick Gingras) in the garden spot.  Bella Dolce was fourth at the quarter,  stalking the two leaders.  The Kadabra filly, driven by Paul MacDonell, drew off, winning by three lengths.

Timeless Winner finished second with Muscovite and Mike Lachance picking up third.  Snow White, back on stride, got up for fourth to get into the C$652,950 final.

Richard Norman trains the daughter of Pizza Dolce for owner/breeder David McDuffee of Nashua, New Hampshire.  Bella Dolce now has eight wins in nine starts and three wins in a row.

Nicole Kraft took the first elimination in 1:58.4.  The Muscles Yankee filly got away third, pulled at the half and won by a length.  Trainer Jimmy Takter drove Nicole Kraft for Christina Takter and John & Jim Fielding.

Pace setter Saorse (Jean Pierre Dubois) took the field through all the fractions but couldn’t quite hold off the eventual winner.  Prada Hall and Trevor Ritchie got up for third while Satin Pillows and Jody Jamieson finished fourth.
