Belovedangel, at odds of 13-1, nailed Cabrini Hanover at the wire and captured the $500,000 Breeders Crown 3-year-old filly pace in 1:52.1, giving driver Ron Pierce his third Breeders Crown victory on the evening. Chotat Milk and David Miller, buried at the rail early in the stretch, got out to finish third.

The start of the race has Chotat Milk and Just Wait Kate swapping the lead to the quarter in :28.4 before race favorite Restive Hanover grabbed the lead and took the field to the half in :55 and the three quarters in 1:24. Sears had Cabrini Hanover second-over behind West End at the third station and she swooped into the lead early in the stretch and appeared headed to victory when Belovedangel shook loose and put her nose in front at the wire.

A daughter of Artsplace, Belovedangel won for the sixth time in 21 starts this year for owners the Robert McIntoStable, John Fielding and Herb Liverman. For trainer Bob McIntosh this was his 15th Breeders Crown victory which leads all trainers. Fielding, who has seven horses in the eight Breeders Crown races, he won a Breeders Crown for a fourth time.

Pierce, who has won eight of the last 16 Breeders Crown races, said the race, ?turned out to where we were buried going into the last turn. I had a ton of horse and nowhere to go. Luckily for me I was able to just angle her out and she did the rest.?
