Bet sports at Casino Windsor

Hazel Park Harness Raceway has been battling the competition of blackjack, craps and slots at three casinos in downtown Detroit and one in neighboring Windsor for a more than a decade, and now that casino across the border in Canada is offering sports betting. Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday the Windsor Casino will offer gamblers the chance to bet on pro and college football, baseball, hockey, and pro and college basketball in its new 170-seat Legends Sports Lounge.

Casino Windsor has set a maximum of $200 per wager, with a $1,000 daily limit per category type. The Legends Sports Lounge will feature 36 HDTVs as well as a 119-foot-long sports ticker. The booths and sitting areas are complete with oversized, high back chairs.

A spokesman for the casino told the Detroit News that gamblers will be able to bet football games by the point spread, and also over/unders. Proposition bets will also be offered such as the number of interceptions in a game.
