Despite one fewer race, the handle for Hambletonian elimination night, July 26, at the Meadowlands was up 7.5 percent over 2007, when the elimination card began at twilight. This year the Hambo elim card began at 7 pm.
A total of $3,835,401 was bet on the 13-race card compared to $3,568,522 on a 14-race card in 2007. The per race handled average of $295,000 also marked a 16 percent increase. (Meadowlands)
