Northfield Park Chief Operating Officer Tom Aldrich today announced the promotion of Dave Bianconi to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Racing and Simulcasting. Bianconi, 39, a graduate in marketing from the University of Cincinnati, is a 16-year veteran at Northfield. He has played a leading role in Northfield Park’s successful ventures in the hyper-competitive simulcast export arena. Bianconi was initially hired as a summer intern while attending the University of Louisville’s Racetrack Management Program. After training in the race office under Director of Racing Gregg Keidel, Bianconi served as the track’s Publicity and Simulcasting Director for the past decade. Since 2005, he also has overseen the operations of the Northfield-owned Cedar Downs, Ohio’s only off-track betting facility, located in Sandusky, Ohio.
“Chairman Brock Milstein and I, along with our staff and horsemen’s community, have long valued Dave’s positive attitude, teamwork and enthusiastic promotion of Northfield Park’s racing product,” said Aldrich. “As we prepare for future opportunities, Dave’s new duties will enable him to direct critical aspects of Northfield’s overall operations.”
Aldrich also announced the elevation of webmaster and publicity assistant Keith Gisser to Northfield Park’s Director of Publicity position. The 48-year old Cleveland Heights resident has been employed at Northfield since 2001. He has handled a wide assortment of responsibilities, including community outreach, simulcast TV hosting, public relations, substitute announcing and charting, and management of both the track’s Bet Harness account wagering platform and its Player’s Club Rewards program.
