Big Business rallies in 1:50

Big Business, the highest priced racehorse sold at the recent Harrisburg sale, paid a big dividend on Monday, Dec. 10, winning the $236,726 Matron 3-Year-Old Colt Pace at Dover Downs by hitting the wire first in 1:50.

Record-breaking driver Tim Tetrick drove Big Business to the score. It was one of four consecutive wins for Tetrick during a card interrupted by a two-hour light's out delay.

Tetrick moved Big Business three-wide turning for home, then battled Artzina and John Campbell in a torrid duel to the wire before edging away for the victory. Ghee's House, winner of the $350,900 Progress Pace only a month before, finished third with Brian Sears at the controls.

The victory marked a Dover Downs sophomore stakes double for trainer Josh Green, trainer of both Big Business and Ghee's House.

Larry Baron of Horsham, Pa. purchased Big Business at auction in November for $295,000. The Dragon Again gelding now has two wins and a second since.

In the winner's circle, trainer Josh Green pointed out that the reason Larry Baron went so high to buy the gelding was the work ethic, horsemanship and reputation of Ben Stafford and Ben Stafford Jr., the gelding's previous owner. (Dover Downs)
