Entrymates Copywriter and Ideal News finished one-two in the second of two $20,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes eliminations for 3-year-old filly pacers at the Meadowlands Friday night, while Freezer Cash posted a 12-1 shocker in the opening split.

Freezer Cash, driven by Cat Manzi for trainer Michael Russo and owner-breeder Joe and Joann Thomson, surged past pacesetting and 1-5 favorite Savannah Sky (John Campbell) in the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.4. Tarport Erin (Mike Lachance) was third.

A daughter of Cam's Card Shark, the win by Freezer Cash was her fifth in nine starts this year, lowering her career mark by 1 1/5th seconds.

Sent off the overwhelming 1-5 favorites, the Ron Pierce-driven Copywriter and the David Miller-directed Ideal News both rallied down the Big M stretch to take the top two positions, respectively, in 1:52.2. Unspoken, with George Brennan driving, was third.

Brittany Farms owns and bred Copywriter, a daughter of Artsplace, and it shares ownership in Ideal News with Val D'Or Farms. Noel Daley trains the winner, who notched her second win of the year in three starts, dropping her mark by three-fifths of a second.
