Saturday night's American-National card was opened up with a victory by Strong Tea in the $160,000 race for 2-year-old filly trotters. Driven by Trevor Ritchie, Strong Tea cruised to a 2 1/2-length win over Maple Grove Smoky (John Campbell) in 2:00.

Ritchie moved Strong Tea to the lead approaching the half and the daughter of Muscles Yankee went on to her fifth win of the year in nine starts. Trained by Doug McIntosh, Strong Tea is owned by Ivey Pharm Stable.

Strong Tea is a half sister to 1999 Hambletonian Oaks winner Oolong.

Diesel Don won the $150,000 American-National for 2-year-old colt trotters. Making just his sixth career starts, the John Campbell-driven Diesel Don trotted to a 1:57.2 victory over Agassi Hall (Andy Miller).

A son of Muscles Yankee, Diesel Don is owned by trainer Chuck Sylvester, Neal Goldman and Having Fun Stable (Campbell and his wife, Paula). The time equaled his lifetime mark, set last week in a conditioned event at Balmoral.
