Facing a horse shortage caused in part by higher purses being paid at Yonkers Raceway, the Meadowlands has received permission from the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey to cut its weekly schedule of racing by one day. Which day will be dropped is expected to be announced early this week.
