Calgary Hanover, winner of the $600,000 Breeders Crown for 2-year-old pacing fillies last year at Woodbine, and Speed Date, winner of $207,926 at two, head a list of 46 New Jersey-sired 3-year-old pacing fillies eligible to the $200,000 Tom D’Altrui Miss New Jersey Pace on June 2 at the Meadowlands.

The SBOANJ-sponsored filly companion race to the Abbatiello Pacing Classic is named for the long-time SBOANJ Board member and officer who has been a leading Sstandardbred breeder in New Jersey as the owner of DI Farms.

Calgary Hanover, a daughter of Western Ideal, earned $372,635 with a mark of 1:53.2 at two, while Speed Date, also by Western Ideal, earned a large portion of her purse money winning a division of the Molly Pitcher in 1:57 at Freehold and a second-place finish in the Sweetheart final at the Meadowlands.

Among other top NJ-sired fillies eligible to this year’s D’Altrui Miss New Jersey are: Me And My Baby (Artsicape), winner of $193,088 and the NJSS final at Freehold among four victories in nine starts, with a mark of1:53.1; Al’s Girl (Artsplace), winner of four of 10 races and $191,525, including divisions of the International Stallion, Bluegrass and Eternal Camnation and a mark of 1:53.4; Lady Mattgalane (Artiscape),  winner of four of seven and $142,535; Southwind Rio (Artsplace), winner of $142,070, and Platinum Hanover (Western Ideal), winner of five of seven at two who has won her last five starts as a 3 year old this year.

Elimination heats are schedule for May 25. (NJSS)
