March 20, 2008 Send To A Friend  | Print View

William (Bill) Millhoan, 65, past president of the Delaware County Fair Board and a member of the Little Brown Jug Society, died Wednesday following a long illness.

Mr. Millhoan was a very active fair board member. The Delaware native was the board’s representative in all matters concerning Delaware’s world famous half-mile race track. He oversaw the construction of the Jug Barn and was responsible for the original design of the Jugette Barn.

“He was a great friend and a strong supporter of all fair activities as well as the racing program,” said Phil Terry, director of marketing for the Delaware Fair. “He will be impossible to replace.”

Mr. Millhoan and his wife, Terry (Todd) Millhoan, bred and raced a strong stable of trotters. The Millhoan Stable was based at the fairgrounds.

Mr. Millhoan is survived by Terry, sons Michael, Todd and Kip, and daughter Kelly.

Funeral services will be held Monday at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home in Delaware. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
