Blacks A Fake was positioned in a perfect second-over trip by driver Natalie Rasmussen and then tipped out on the last turn before pacing on to a victory in the $1 million Inter Dominion Championship Sunday afternoon at the Tabcorp Park Menangle track. The mile rate time for the 2,300 meters (just short of 1 1/2 miles) was 1:53 8/10ths. It was his fourth Inter Dominion victory, making him the only horse to accomplish the feat.

The pole sitter Washakie, driven by John McCarthy, held his position at the start while Lance Justice rocketed away from the mobile gate with Smoken Up, who started from post 10. The 2006 Little Brown Jug winner Mr. Feelgood started from post nine and dropped back to last in the field as they headed into the first turn on the seven-eighths mile oval.

Rasmussen and Blacks A Fake started from post three and the 37-year-old driver strategically got away right behind Smoken Up. Black's A Fake's top rival, Monkey King, sat on his back in the outer flow, but in the stretch drive he couldn't get past the 9-year-old gelding affectionately called "Blackie" by the crowd in excess of 10,000.

In addition to winning the Inter Dominion, Blacks A Fake also drew almost even with Gallo Blue Chip as the world's richest pacer. Blacks A Fake, a son of Fake Left, now has career earnings of almost $4.2 million while Gallo's earnings are $4,260,959. Blacks A Fake's Inter Dominion score was the 61st of his career.
