March 08, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Blue Chip Star, a 4-year-old son of Credit Winner and the $826,601 winner Dream Of Joy, won for the first time Wednesday night at the Solvalla track in Stockholm. Still owned by breeder Olle Leven, who campaigned both Credit Winner and Dream Of Joy, Blue Chip Star led for most of the 2,140 meters (1 5/16 miles), got away with a slow pace early, and won in a mile rate of 2:01.4.

Blue Chip Star defeated Jocose, the top 4 year old in Sweden at this point in the season.

Blue Chip Star is trained in Sweden by Stig H. Johansson and was driven by Erik Adielsson. Trond Smedshammer trained Blue Chip Star in the U.S. as a 2 but the horse never raced due to injuries. The horse has been in Sweden about one year.
