Standardbred Canada's website has reported that four-time O'Brien Award winning trainer Bob McIntosh was involved in a training accident at his farm Wednesday morning and broke his pelvis. “This morning my father was thrown from the jog cart when a yearling kicked and got his leg over the shaft," McIntosh's son, Rob, told SC's Trot Insider. "He was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was diagnosed with a broken pelvis. He is scheduled to undergo surgery in a week after the swelling has gone down. After that he will not be able to put any weight on it for three months." Along with being a member of harness racing's Hall of Fame both in Canada and the U.S., McIntosh is also the leading conditioner in the history of the Breeders Crown series with 15 victories. Horses which hail from McIntosh's Windsor, Ontario-based operation have won nearly 3,800 races and banked more than $85 million in purse earnings. (Standardbred Canada)
