Bobnoxious, one of harness racing’s newest millionaires, kept right on rolling to the next milestone on Monday at The Meadows, as he converted a pocket trip to victory in the $27,500 Preferred Handicap Pace.
Aaron Merriman sent Bobnoxious for the lead, but the 9-year-old son of Nude Beach-Blue Autumn settled into the pocket behind the 1-5 favorite, Noble Falcon. They raced that way until midstretch when Bobnoxious blew by in the “Lightning Lane” to down Noble Falcon by one-half length, in 1:53. Real Samart was a closing third.
Bobnoxious eclipsed the $1 million mark with a July 31 win at The Meadows, and now has earned $1,032,486. Paul Kennedy Jr. trains Bobnoxious for Daniel and Thomas Courtemanche.
Merriman and Dave Palone recorded driving triples on the 14-race card. (The Meadows)
