Bob Watts serves notice at Scioto

The 2-year-old pacer Bob Watts served notice that heʼs got a lot of potential on the track with a 1:57.2 victory at Scioto Downs on Wednesday evening. The son of Real Desire won by 12 1/2 lengths with a final quarter in :27.3.

 

Bob Watts went to the front from post seven and never looked back, taking the field past the half in 1:00 for driver Russell Swartz. He then simply drew away in the final quarter to an easy victory, It was his first purse start and he paid $5.40 as the favorite.

 

Crime Scene Cruzer was second and Call Me Cruiser finished third.

 

Steve Carter trains the gelding and owns him in partnership with Robert Reid of Mansfield, Ohio and Chuck Grubb of Grove City, Ohio. He is the first foal of the Rustler Hanovermare Art Queen.

 

Driver Jeff Nisonger scored a driving triple on Wednesday at Scioto. (Scioto Downs)
