May 15, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Walter "Boots" Dunn, an owner, breeder, trainer, driver and USTA director from Cochranton, Pennsylvania, sustained major, compound fractures to both legs in an accident at the Meadville Fairgrounds on the morning of May 15. Dunn, who owns a heavy construction company, was unloading a paving machine in preparation for blacktop work and his legs became entangled with a chain on the paver.

He was transported to Erie Hamot Medical Center for surgery and is expected to be there until later this week. Prior to surgery, Dunn gave hurried instructions to family members regarding stakes payments due today and horses to be entered for the weekend. Cards can be sent to him at PO Box 8, Cochranton, PA 16314 or emails to wldunn@zoominternet.net.
