Boots Place scores Harrington upset

Bernard Segebade's Boots Place ($27.80, Jon Roberts) was a triumphant winner Tuesday in the featured $17,000 Mares Junior Open at Harrington Raceway in 1:54.1.

The 4-year-old Park Place mare received a two-hole trip behind pacesetter Madges Lil Fortune and surged by in the stretch after holding off Dill and Grace A and favored Ladyfield. The Mike Hall-trainee earned her third win of the year.

Drivers Tony Morgan and Jim Morand each registered a hat trick, while Ross Wolfenden and Jon Roberts each had driving doubles.(Harrington)
