The 8-year-old pacing stallion Artist's View p,5, 1:49.4 ($788,811) has been retired according to Buzzy Sholty, who trained the son of Artsplace-Lady Ashlee Ann throughout his career.

Artist's View is out of the prolific broodmare Lady Ashee Ann and is a half brother to Ashlee's Big Guy p,1:50.4f ($978,168) and Betterthancheddar p,4,1:49.1f ($857,383).

He was bred by Winbak Farm and is owned by Dean Miller's DM Stables LLC and William Rufenacht.

Artist's View enjoyed his greatest success as a 3 year old in 2007 when he won eight times in 23 starts, with earnings of $457,235. His biggest win came in the $555,000 Breeders Crown final at the Medowlands. He also won a division of the Battle of the Brandywine and the Junior TrendsetterSeries final in 2007.

He added $131,400 in earnings as a 4 year old in 2008,while capturing the finals of the Aquarius Series and theFour Leaf Clover at the Meadowlands. Artist's View lowered his mark to 1:49.4 in 2009 in a conditioned pace at the Meadowlands.

Sholty said Artist's View will be moving to Ohio in the near future and the owners will be entertaining offers to stand him at stud both in the United States and in Australia and New Zealand as well. (USTA)
