A seminar for breeders focusing on “Your Better Business Plan” will be held at Morrisville College Equine Institute on Saturday with speakers discussing ways to enact a more efficient and effective plan for your farm.

Ken Jacobs, a New York yearling purchaser who has found success in selecting young horses, will discuss “What The Yearling Buyer Seeks At Public Auctions.” Jim Gilles, proprietor of Lambeth Desktop, will speak on “Marketing Your Business Through A Website.” Fred Stein, CPA, will talk about “Selecting A Business Entity And Basic Tax Guidelines.” An insurance expert will also discuss “New Insights For Insuring Yourself And Your Farm.”

All presentations will be aimed at rookie and veteran business owners and are of interest to breeding farms, boarding farms and all equine disciples.

Tuition is $30 per person or $50 per couple and covers the seminar, materials and lunch. Check in at the Morrisville Equine Breeding Facility on Fearon Road will be 8:30 to 9 a.m. on Saturday. The seminar will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a break for lunch.

Those who are interested in attending should register by contacting Harness Horse Breeders by Friday, Oct. 26, at 518-785-5858 or e-mailing info@hhbnys.org.

This seminar is sponsored by the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund and Morrisville College Equine Institute. (HHBNY)
