Breeding donated to USHWA

Horseman Mal Burroughs has donated a 2007 breeding to Malabar Millennium to the U.S. Harness Writers Association (USHWA) to benefit the Clyde Hirt Sports Media Workshop.

The workshop is for college students studying journalism. During the four-day workshop, which culminates on Hambletonian Day, the students interact with professional journalists and are all responsible for
writing a story on the Hambletonian, which appears in a major metropolitan newspaper.

The royally-bred Malabar Millennium, son of Hambletonian winner Malabar Man and Hambletonian Oaks champion Gleam (both driven to victory by Burroughs), stands for $2,500 at Lindwood Farm in Greensburg,
Pennsylvania. His first racing crop will be taking to North America's racetracks shortly.

"On behalf of USHWA, I am thrilled we are able to offer this tremendous opportunity for someone to secure a breeding to Malabar Millennium," said USHWA president Judy Davis-Wilson. "We are grateful to Mal Burroughs for donating this breeding to help support the Clyde Hirt Sports Media Workshop. Many of the articles produced by the workshop students have run in papers that would not normally cover the
Hambletonian and thus we so greatly appreciate all the support the workshop receives."

Commenting on Malabar Millennium, Davis-Wilson said, "You certainly can't be bred better than Malabar Millennium, and whomever secures this breeding might be jumping 'ahead of the curve' if his offspring live up
to his parentage. And it's a gamble well worth taking, what with the influx of purse money due to the new slots program in Pennsylvania."

Anyone interested in the breeding should contact Debbie Little by April 15 at (201) 438-4456 or via email at dlittle@nypost.com. (USHWA)
