Brett Miller hurt in spill

Brett Miller, the leading driver in North America this year with 589 wins, was seriously injured in an accident in Northfield Park's second race on Wednesday night, and will be out of action indefinitely.



Miller suffered a broken nose and bruised cheekbone. He will require plastic surgery to repair a serious gash across the nose, cheek, and face.



Miller is being treated at Southpointe Hospital, and driver Darrel Wilson was transported to the Sagamore Hills (Ohio) Emergency Center, but suffered only bumps and bruises and was released. The other drivers involved, Charles Wyers and William Irvine, were not injured and continued to drive on Wednesday night.



Miller was driving Pop The Clutch when she made a break just past the quarter pole and fell. The other drivers were unable to avoid the fallen horse, and a pileup ensued.
