Craig Braddick will become the first British harness racing announcer in the United States when he takes his place behind the microphone at the new Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, Minn. North America’s newest racetrack has its grand opening slated for Friday, April 11. Braddick, 31, has lived in America for nearly seven years and resides in Charleston, W.Va. He is a full-time student on the dean’s list at West Virginia State University, majoring in Communications and minoring in English. A teenage phenomenon as an announcer in the U.K., Craig has called Thoroughbred, harness and national hunt racing in Great Britain. More recently, Braddick has presented political talk shows and announced football, volleyball and softball on WVSU 106.7 radio, as well as presenting commentary on a local PBS television show. “I am really looking forward to the challenge of the job,” says Braddick, “and I think Running Aces will soon become a top destination for lovers of both live and simulcast racing.” (Running Aces)
