Broadway Paige, driven by David Miller, earned a new lifetime mark of 1:54.4 and just missed equaling the track record in winning the fourth and final division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotting fillies Tuesday night (July 21) at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

Trained by Brian Roland, Broadway Paige stopped the timer just one fifth of equaling the track record of Saorse.

Miller and Broadway Paige left from the two post and sat second or third through three-quarters of the race. Miller came first up down the backside to go after front runner Caviar For The Lady (Charlie Norris), who took command from the seven hole, taking the field to the opening quarter in :28, :56.4 for the half, and 1:25.2 for the three-quarters before finishing third behind the winner and Timlesswinner Two (Andy Miller).

Miller also won another $60,000-plus Pennsylvania Sire Stakes race with All Star Hanover, overcoming the seven post for trainer Joe Holloway. In this race, All Star Hanover took the first quarter lead over Give N Take (Mike LaChance) in :28.2.  But the new leader at the half and three-quarters was Whispering Wind (Mike Simons), with the splits being :58.1 and 1:27.

Whispering Wind was no match for All Star Hanover coming down the stretch as the winner won by six lengths with Give N take second and Whispering Wind third.

Eagle Score (Andy Miller) captured the opening division in 1:56, winning by a nose over Valeris (Jacqueline Ingrassia) with third going to Hall Of Wishes (Andrew McCarthy).

Pleasing Lady, with LaChance aboard, also won a division in 1:56. Second in this race was Sea Raven (Tom Jackson) with third going to Rusty’s Centerfold (Kevin Sizer).

“I left hard with her (Pleasing Lady),” said LaChance. “I was a little concerned at the end of the race because she’s usually not strong. But she responded well and is a good mannered filly." (Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs)
