Brooklyns Best and My Red High Heels both emerged victorious in Monday night's second leg of the Town Pro Pacing Series for 3-year-old fillies at Mohawk Racetrack.

Brooklyns Best, who missed the first leg of the series after arriving late for retention, took advantage from an inside, following trip and was able to split rivals in the late stages for driver Luc Ouellette to prevail in 1:52.4. The daughter of Western Terror-Olympic Sign just edged out round-one winner Personal Ad with Jersey Dream finishing third.

It was the third win in nine tries this season for Brooklyns Best who is trained by Tracy Brainard for Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Fla. The winner’s share of the purse vaulted her past $59,000 this season.

In the second split, My Red High Heels was allowed to steal a pedestrian first half of :58.1 and simply sprinted away in the final quarter to win in 1:54.3. Euphoria Seelster finished 1 3/4 lengths back in second with Apricot Brandy grabbing the show spot.

The daughter of Modern Art-My Basha now has four wins in 16 starts for trainer Dave Tyrell and owner Cesar Kowalski of Stoney Creek, Ont. Her seasonal bankroll improved to just over $59,000.

The final of the Town Pro Series will go postward next Monday night at Mohawk. (WEG)
