A source involved in the prosecution of David Brooks told harnessracing.com that jury deliberations in the trial of David Brooks are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, Aug.10.
In an unusual move, federal judge Joanne Seybert gave the jury a full week off to attend to personal matters and vacation plans. The trial had started on January 25 in federal district court in Central Islip, Long Island. The case was given to the jury on Monday afternoon, Aug. 2.
The jury deliberated for about 30 minutes on Monday and all day on Tuesday, Aug. 3. The jury requested a number of documents during their initial deliberations, but nothing out of the ordinary, according to the source. The jury will return on Tuesday, Aug. 10 and resume their deliberations.--By Steve Kallas
