With trainer-driver John Stark Jr., Bunny's Legacy dropped in fifth early from post position seven and then moved to the lead at the half. From there she led the rest of the route to easily hold off runner-up Skidmore and driver Barry Segal and take home the winner's share of the $3,600 purse.
A daughter of Western Hanover, Bunny's Legacy won a qualifier last week at Saratoga in her only previous racetrack experience. She was the odds-on choice at 15 cents on a dollar in her maiden victory.
Bunny's Legacy is owned by Skip and Wendy Spring's W Springtime Stable and Shannon Brott. Bunny Lake was sold by the Springs and Stark at the 2006 Harrisburg Mixed Sale while she was in foal to Rocknroll Hanover, with Hanover Shoe Farms purchasing her for $400,000.
