Pushed six wide into the final turn, BV’s Sister showed her class and talent Monday at The Meadows as she swooped the field late to capture the $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot. Assigned post 9 because of the two wins in her last three starts, BV’s Sister ducked from the gate, waiting patiently for cover. When Ray Paver moved the 6-year-old daughter of Big Victory-First Breath to the extreme outside for clearance, she responded by brushing past her tiring rivals to score in 1:56.1 at a healthy 9-1. Teagen was second, 3/4 lengths back, with Caviar Forthe Lady a rallying third. Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains BV’s Sister, who surpassed $400,000 in career earnings, for Ken Sommer. Dave Palone drove three winners on the 13-race card. (The Meadows)
