BV’s Sister was both aggressive and patient on Wednesday at The Meadows, a combination that brought her victory in the $18,000 Filly and Mare Open Trot. Mike Wilder hustled BV’s Sister to the front from post position four, but the pair soon yielded the lead to the venerable Whotookwhat. Things got dicey when BV’s Sister was shuffled to third at the three-quarter pole. But Whotookwhat was strong enough to carry BV’s Sister to the “Lightning Lane,” which she used willingly to prevail in 1:55.2, a career best. Whotookwhat was 1 1/2 lengths back in second, with Go Get Blanche a closing third. It was the 13th win in 25 career starts for the daughter of Big Victory, who edged past $200,000 in lifetime earnings. Virgil Morgan Jr. trains BV’s Sister for Barnett Zimmerman LLC. (The Meadows)
