In final preparations for the upcoming Breeders Crown, Cabrini Hanover won a qualifier at Gaitway Farms in New Jersey Friday morning with a wire-to-wire effort in 1:56.1. With Brian Sears driving for trainer Jimmy Takter, the sophomore daughter of Western Ideal paced to an opening half of 1:00.1 before speeding home in :56 flat to seal the 7 1/2-length victory. Finishing fourth--a distant 17 lengths behind--was Just Wait Kate.

Also winning a qualifier was the 3-year-old gelding trotter Sir Perseverance for driver George Brennan and trainer Brett Pelling. A son of Self Possessed, Sir Perseverance edged 2004 Peter Haughton Memorial winner New York Yank by a neck in 2:01.1.
