Scioto Downs will raise the curtain on its 49th season of harness racing on Friday, May 4, with a new earlier post time of 6:30 p.m. and a new general manager of racing operations, Stacy Cahill.
Cahill is just the third general manager of the historic facility. Bob Steele occupied the seat from the track’s birth in 1959 until his retirement in 2000, when Ed Ryan took over. “Stacy brings 23 years of experience and knowledge at Scioto Downs to her new position,” said Ted Arneault, president and CEO of Mountaineer Gaming Group, the parent company of Scioto Downs.
“As she has progressed through the ranks at Scioto, Stacy has acquired vast knowledge in the racing and pari-mutuel areas and has exhibited leadership skills that will be advantageous to

"But we are very fortunate at Scioto to have a strong core of loyal horsemen who continue to stable here and race with us,” said Cahill, who will still act as racing secretary and director of racing along with her new duties.
“I’m very fortunate personally to have an experienced and dedicated staff both frontside and backside,” she said. “And I would like to thank Ted Arneault and Rose Mary Williams of Mountaineer for the opportunity and Ed Ryan for teaching me the things he did during his years here.” (Scioto Downs press release)
