Callmecowboy wins at Dover

Return Home
March 29, 2010 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Callmecowboy won the $18,500 filly and mare pace, while Robindarch was placed first in the $16,500 filly division at Dover Downs on a rainy Sunday.

Brad Hanners drove the first of his two winners by directing Howard and Josh Kaufman's Callmecowboy to his first win for the owners who claimed him in February. The Blissfull Hall-Coastarosa gelding set a personal speed record of 1:54 for trainer John Cabot. CC Racy (Corey Callahan) finished third but was placed second when Make Mischief (Ross Wolfenden) broke stride and was placed back to third for a lapped-on break at the wire. The race ended a two race win streak for Puppetandmee N (Jim Morand).

Another official's placement resulted in Robindarich, second at the wire, being placed first in a $16,500 mares pace. If Only You Knew (Ron Pierce) was first across the finish line but was detected of a violation the Euro Lane rule, going inside the pylons, at the head of the stretch. B Good Tanna (Frank Milby) was the show finisher. Robindarch raced outside for much of the 1:56.4 mile. Bred, owned and trained by Nick Callahan, the win was the first of 2010 for the Badlands Hanover-Robin The Bank 4 year old.

Vic Kirby, Pierce, Hanners and Tony Morgan each had driving doubles. (Dover Downs)
