Greystone Cash and Allamerican Motive both emerged victorious in their respective divisions of the second leg of the Cam Fella Pacing Series for 4 year olds over a rain-soaked Woodbine oval on Saturday night.
Greystone Cash made an impressive brush around heavily favoured Sixdaysontheroad just past the half in the opening $35,000(C) contest and then cruised to a 2 1/4 length victory for driver Randy Waples in 1:54.2. Magicmaker Hanover used a strong two-move effort to finish second with Sixdaysontheroad narrowly holding on for the show spot.
It was just the second win in nine starts this season for the gelded son of Million Dollar Cam-Speedy Helen who is trained by Bruce Goit for owner Patrick Ryan of London, Ont. He returned $7.90 for the win while boosting his career earnings to just over $156,000.
Allamerican Motive pulled off a major upset in the second split for driver Phil Hudon when he rallied from off the pace to prevail in 1:54--fastest of the two divisions. The son of Four Starzzz Shark-Moonshaker got the better of Star Party, who set much of the pace, with Card Hustler landing the show spot.
It was the first victory in eight tries this season for the pacer who is co-owned by trainer Jerry Simms along with Dr Paul Gatfield of London, Ont. Allamerican Motive rewarded his backers with a whopping $61.30 win return.
The $80,000(C) Cam Fella Pacing Series final will go postward next Saturday night from Woodbine. (WEG)
