The titans of the sport, past and present, will be on hand at Mohawk Racetrack this Saturday evening as part of Canadian Trotting Classic night at the Campbellville oval.

Harness racing’s newest superstar, Muscle Hill, will headline the $1 million(C) Canadian Trotting Classic for the sport’s best 3-year-old colt trotters. A victory would extend his perfect record this year to nine and would vault him past $1.8 million in seasonal earnings and $2.7 million lifetime.

The son of Muscles Yankee won his elimination this past Saturday night by more than five lengths and will start from post four in the rich final with regular driver Brian Sears in tow.

Former Canadian Trotting Classic winner Mr. Muscleman will be on hand at Mohawk as part of the festivities and fans will have a chance to meet the 9-year-old gelding as they enter the track this Saturday.

Mr. Muscleman won the 2003 edition of Canada’s richest race for trotters and retired last season with $3,582,823 in career earnings, making him one of the richest performers in harness racing history. He will also lead the post parade for this year’s event.

The Woodbine Entertainment Group will also pay tribute to the living legend John Campbell in celebration of his 2009 induction into the Canadian Sports Hall Of Fame.

There will be a poster giveaway for the early bird customers, and Campbell, a winner of more than 10,000 races and $268 million in purses, will be on hand for an autograph session at 6:30 p.m. One lucky fan will win an autographed set of his driving colours in a second chance draw. (WEGO
