Cane Pace winner vies in New York Sire Stakes

The New York Sires Stakes (NYSS) season continues on Saturday night at Batavia Downs Casino when the glamour division,3-year-old colt and gelding pacers roll into town, to compete for $129,520 to be split into two divisions. Headlining the festivities is the Cane Pace winner Dynamic Youth.
 
Dynamic Youth ships to Western New York fresh off a 1:48.4 victory in $322,716 Cane Pace final at Tioga Downs on Sept. 3.
 
Dynamic Youth is not eligible to the Little Brown Jug but could be supplemented. However, his connections have already announced the supplemental payment would not be made. Before his victory in the Cane Pace he finished second in the $587,315 Confederation Cup final. The Cane Pace is the first leg of pacing's Triple Crown.
 
Stephane Bouchard picks up the catch drive on Dynamic Youth, an altered son of Bettor's Delight–Always True.

In 13 seasonal starts Dynamic Youth is a five-time winner and sports earnings of $397,940. He has earned $474,319 lifetime for owners Silva, Tucci, and C & G Racing. The Aaron Lambert trainee has been installed as the 2-1 choice in the sixth race of the evening.

The sixth race also includes Bet On The Law, the Bettor's Delight- Outlawed Beauty gelding is trained by Joe Pavia Jr. and Jim Morrill Jr. will be in the sulky. In 17 starts in 2012, Bet On The Law has earned $158,619.

One race later the second NYSS event occurs with the Art Major colt, Major Bombay drawing the rail in the field of six. The Tony Alagna trainee has earned $163,903 this season in 12 starts for owners Aaron Waxman, Andy Willinger, John Fodera and Major Bombay Partners. Morrill will be at the controls.

Former Batavia freshman track record holder Forever Just switches to Jeff Gregory for his return to the nation's oldest lighted harness track. The Bettor's Delight colt has earned $156,375 this season for Stake Your Claim stable and Fred Wallace. Linda Toscano is the trainer.

Favored in the 7th race is the leading money earner in the field, Breakin The Law. The Artiscape gelding sports seasonal earnings of $321,074 for Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stable and Panhellenic stable. Kevin Cummings drives for trainer Ron Burke.

Saturday's program also features three divisions of the Excelsior series worth $12,700 each. Post time is 6:25 p.m.

The NYSS season concludes at the Downs on Wednesday night (Sept. 12)with 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters in town. Yonkers Trot winner Archangel is expected to be entered when entries are taken on Friday morning. (Batavia)
