Rockingham Park will wrap up the final weekend of the 2007 live racing season with a tough test for some of the best trotters on the continent and the track will also thank its loyal fans with the chance to win Red Sox tickets and an Ipod. The highlight of live racing over the four-day Labor Day Holiday Weekend will be the $50,000 final of the Joseph Carney Memorial Trot on Sunday. The nine horses in the field earned their spot through two salty $15,000 eliminations last Sunday. The top four finishers from each elimination plus the fifth-place horse from the fastest of the two races are moving on. The field will be comprised of Armbro Barrister, who set a new track record of 1:55.2 for aged stallions in his elimination, Enough Talk, Rickie, Mister Lucky Vec, Kiwi Demand, Budlightning, Foreign Authority, Los Barvos, and Slim Down. Live racing will be held Friday through Monday with post time of 1:05 p.m. each day. On Saturday, four tickets to see the Red Sox from the new luxury Pavilion seating at Fenway Park will be given away as part of the season's last Miller Summer Fun Day. Everyone 21 and older coming to the races is eligible to enter the drawing. On Monday, everyone on track who is 18 or older may enter to win an Ipod from Coca-Cola. (Rockingham)
